Jada-Pinkett Smith's Show Canceled: Marc Anthony Says 'Affair Laughable'
Jada-Pinkett Smith’s show HawthroRNe in which the actress plays a nurse in a Virginia, has been canceled by the TNT network.
Smith has been entangled in a number of scandals these last few months including a rumored split from husband Will Smith and an alleged affair with singer Marc Anthony, who also recently separated from his wife Jennifer Lopez.
The actress was referenced by rapper Drake to “Set it Off” like Jada Pinkett, a phrase coined after the actress stared in the 1996 film “Set if Off.” The metaphor accurately describes the type of summer Mrs. Smith is having after her alleged split with Will Smith set off a storm of controversy, including the news with Marc Anthony, and now TNT pulling the plug on HawthoRNe.
The show was supposed to run for a fourth season but TNT decided to cancel the series which also stars Marc Anthony.
Jada-Pinkett Smith has a history of relationships with musicians/actors.
Her husband Will Smith started out as a rapper and went by the stage name The Fresh Prince. He made records with longtime friend and partner DJ Jazzy Jeff until breaking into acting with the hit sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” Smith then went on to become one of the biggest movie stars in the Hollywood after the hit show ended in 1996.
Jada-Pinkett Smith was also close friends with deceased hip hop legend Tupac Shakur. Not only is Tupac Shakur considered one of the most influential rappers of all time, but also an actor who probably had a bright Hollywood future ahead of him had he not died in a shooting in 1996.
She even admitted on the WJLB Morning Show that she did consider Shakur as more than a friend.
“Pac and I were never in a romance but I feel as though we had those feelings,” said Smith on the show.
Marc Anthony, who she is now being accused of having an affair with, is also an established Latin singer and acts alongside her in HawthoRNe.
Jada-Pinkett Smith has also dabbled in music when she launched the Heavy Metal band Wicked Wisdom in 2005, a group that she wrote music and sang for.
