Jenna Bush Birth Welcomes Daughter Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager (PHOTO)
It's a girl for former First Daughter Jenna Bush Hager and her husband Henry. Grandfather, and former President, George W. Bush took to Facebook to make the announcement of his granddaughter's arrival.
"Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager. Mila, daughter of Jenna and Henry Hager, is named for her grandmothers. She was born last night, April 13, at 8:43 p.m. in New York City. We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated," Bush posted on Facebook.
Hager announced the pregnancy in December on the "Today" show, where she works as a correspondent.
"I'm pregnant! We're so excited and obviously nervous about it. I'm a first-time mom, but it's something that I've always wanted. I'm a teacher and I love kids. It's a springtime baby," Hager told co-stars Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie before being surprised with flowers.
The new grandfather is certainly thrilled to finally have a grandchild to spoil. Hager revealed that her father was eager to become a grandparent, and he confirmed the news to AARP.
"I'm a little disappointed it hasn't happened yet, but the more disappointment I show, the less likely it is that things are going to happen on the time table I want," Bush said.
Hager, who not only works on the "Today" show but is also an editor for "Southern Living" has made a name for herself and her family. She is one of the more popular contributors on national TV and received a huge welcome from "Southern Living" magazine readers, thanks to her Texas roots.
Congrats and well wishes have been pouring in on Twitter and Facebook, showing just how popular the former First Daughter still is.
"Congratulations! @JennaBushHager and Henry! Proud parents of little Mila! Love to you all!" tweeted Matt Lauer.
"Congrats @JennaBushHager and Henry #blessed," added Hoda Kotb.
