Jennifer Garner Makes Red Carpet Return
Jennifer Garner has come out to face the cameras two months after delivering her son Samuel Garner Affleck.
The 40-year-old actress and husband Ben Affleck welcomed their third child and first son on Feb. 27 after much speculation over the due date.
Garner appeared on the red carpet in Las Vegas Tuesday at Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures CinemaCon 2012. The actress was promoting her new movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," which is scheduled for release this August.
The event took place at Caesar's Palace and saw the "Alias" star don a sleeveless mini-dress by Dolce and Gabbana paired with Nicholas Kirkwood high heels.
Later this week, Garner will be honored with the CinemaCon Female Star of the Year Award.
"Jennifer Garner has conquered both small and big screens alike with her stunning and captivating performances," said CinemaCon's managing director Mitch Neuhauser in a statement.
"She can epitomize the all-American girl, but can also pack the punch of a tough action hero," he added of the "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" star. "Her versatility and remarkable ability to entertain audiences of all ages is impressive, and we could not be more excited to honor her with the CinemaCon Female Star of the Year Award."
She and actor Affleck have been married since 2005. Ahead of their son's birth, the couple kept his sex a secret. Samuel joins big sisters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3.
While on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno in January, Garner answered that she did not know whether her husband wanted a son or not.
"I would have thought so," said the actress of Affleck wanting another male in the family. "At first I think I really thought so, then he kind of said, 'Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls.' My girls love me. I'm the big guy in the house.' So, now, I'm not sure."
Affleck announced the birth of his son on Facebook, writing, "We are happy to announce on February 27, Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Samuel Garner Affleck."
