Jennifer Lopez Filming Reality Show With Casper Smart Amid 'American Idol' Speculation
Jennifer Lopez's highly publicized relationship with Casper Smart has reportedly landed the young dancer a leading role in an upcoming reality television show.
Smart, 25, will reportedly star in an Oxygen reality television show alongside his 42-year-old girlfriend who also judges the "American Idol" vocal competition. The New York Post reported that the show will focus on the pair's professional relationship as Smart attempts to get Lopez's dancers in shape for her upcoming tour.
Lopez's boyfriend and backup dancer, who recently appeared in her music video "Dance Again," will also choreograph her upcoming 20-city tour which will reportedly be the premise of their new reality show. However, this will not be the first time that Lopez's romantic and professional life have been fused together on television.
The entertainer's ex-husband, Marc Anthony, joined the star in a Latino talent competition called "Q'Viva: The Chosen." Although Smart has appeared with Lopez on her current television show, "American Idol," some say the current judge may not be able to continue working in her position.
"She's just too busy," an insider told E! News.
Lopez recently told talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres that she misses doing other things outside of the competition.
"I really do enjoy it. Now this is my second year -- I don't know if I can go for a third year," the singer said. "I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they're getting more mobile, they're about to go into school … So I just don't know."
Lopez currently serves as a judge alongside Steven Tyler and entertainment mogul Randy Jackson. At the premiere of her new movie, "What to Expect When You're Expecting," Lopez said that it's tough balancing her career and children.
"It's tough. It's a balancing act," Lopez said, according to E! "You put them first and then you have all these other things that you have to do, that you have to give your time to as well, and you have to make sure that they're OK in the process."
