K. Michelle Regrets Assaulting 'Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta' Cast Member
K. Michelle, singer-songwriter and star of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," recently admitted that she regretted physically assaulting fellow cast member and former friend Mimi Faust.
K. Michelle, born Kimberly Pate, made numerous blog headlines earlier this year when she allegedly assaulted Faust while backstage at the singer's New York City concert. The argument reportedly turned physical after K.Michelle questioned the sexual orientation of Faust's new boyfriend, causing a rift between the pair and the former to admit that she assaulted her co-star with flowers.
While K.Michelle has been doing several interviews admitting that she is no longer friends with Faust, the singer recently revealed that she regretted letting things turn physical between them.
"You know I recently spoke with Mimi- I can't give the show away- but I did apologize to her because at no means is it ever appropriate to slap somebody," the singer told ABC News radio recently. "Especially with my mom being there and that being my first sold out show at B. B. King's and that's very monumental for an artist and for you to come to my event; I don't do that."
The singer readily admitted that she made the wrong decision when deciding to physically assault her friend.
"But I will take the responsibility … I should've just walked away from Mimi instead of making her smell the flowers," K. Michelle told ABC News radio.
The singer recently signed to Warner Bros records and reportedly wants to focus on her budding music career instead of the dramatic storylines she has become synonymous with on "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta."
At a recent concert performance in the District of Columbia, K. Michelle let her fans know that God has brought her past the "Love & Hip Hop" franchise. She also let it be known that she planned to star in a new reality television series.
"God is just bringing me to a whole different place. My mouth is still bad. I drink and act a fool," K.Michelle said at the concert, according to Vibe Vixen reports. "But, I just don't think that [Love & Hip Hop Atlanta] is where I need to be. I do have my own show coming on VH1. You guys are gonna like that one a lot. You really are."
For now, K. Michelle and Faust will both appear in the "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" second season which premieres Monday, April 22, at 8 p.m. ET.
