Kanye West Deposed by Kris Humphries' Legal Team to Prove Fraud?
Kanye West has been reportedly deposed by NBA player Kris Humphries' attorney who is calling for the rapper to testify about his relationship with Kim Kardashian as the basketball player seeks an annulment.
Although Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries in October 2011, the Brooklyn Nets forward is aiming to annul the marriage and a trial is reportedly set for a Feb 15, 2013 date, according to Hollywood Life. Humphries reportedly had West deposed in order to prove that he was defrauded by Kardashian.
The NBA player's lawyer reportedly questioned West about the time he began dating Kardashian, who he insinuated he had romantic interest in while she was with Humphries in the song "Way Too Cold." According to Hollywood Life reports, Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser believes her client is unwillingly tied to Humphries.
"Miss Kardashian is now handcuffed to Mr. Humphries," Wasser reportedly said in court Wednesday, according to Hollywood Life.
However, TMZ reports that Humphries will stop the trial process if Kardashian agrees to an annulment which would allow him to disclose the details of their marriage publicly.
Last June, reports swirled about Humphries' legal team reportedly issuing a subpoena to West's ex-girlfriend Amber Rose so that she can be deposed and reveal information about Kardashian, 32, and her 35-year-old boyfriend getting together much earlier than the reality television star claims. While Kardashian has insisted that her relationship with the rapper has only taken a romantic turn after she broke things off with Humphries, Rose's comments in an interview given months ago seem to tell another tale.
In a December interview with Star magazine, Rose referred to Kardashian as a "homewrecker" who came between her relationship with West.
"Kim is one of the main reasons why me and Kanye are not together," Rose told Star magazine. "She was sending pictures, and I was like, 'Kim, just stop. Don't be that person.' I thought at least she'd be woman enough to respond to me. She never responded."
