Kat Von D Engagement 'Over,' Calls Herself 'Fool' on Twitter
Kat Von D and Deadmau5 each confirmed that their plans to marry have been canceled this week. The pair's rocky relationship began last summer and has already seen one canceled engagement before.
Von D took to Twitter Wednesday not only announcing her split from the acclaimed DJ, but clarifying why they were moving "onwards and upwards."
"Man, I'm a fool," started the 30-year-old tattoo artist. "Cheating on your loved one is the most hurtful thing one could do. I hate to have to admit, that this relationship is indeed over."
However, Deadmau5, also known as Joel Zimmerman, had a different take on the split.
"At the end of June, it was clear that the relationship was not working and we mutually ended the engagement," wrote the DJ on Facebook. "I was not, at any point, unfaithful to Kat during our time together."
Deadmau5 proposed to Von D back in December, and just months ago, the pair announced their underwater-themed wedding plans.
Nevertheless, Von D posted to her over 1 million Twitter followers that she is moving on from the relationship, also posting, "Onwards and upwards."
"All is full of love," she later added. "Too much goodness out there to ignore. Sweet dreams, all."
Meanwhile, it was TLC's "L.A. Ink" that ran for four seasons that solidified Von D as a national celebrity. She has become one of the most sought-after tattoo artists in the world and her tattoo parlor, High Voltage Tattoo, has fans on years-long waiting lists.
This is not the first time Von D has called off an engagement. The "L.A. Ink" star canceled her wedding to Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James in 2011. Their on-and-off again engagement ended that same year after rumors of his infidelity arose.
James' infamous divorce from actress Sandra Bullock in 2010 over matters of infidelity has led the media to believe his relationship with Von D ended for the same reasons.
