Kate Middleton and Prince William Wax Figurines Unveiled

Madame Tussauds wax museum unveiled figures of the former Kate Middleton and Prince William on Wednesday.

The unveiling of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrives just in time for the royal couple's 1-year anniversary coming up on April 29.

There are three versions of the incredibly life-like statues on display in London, Amsterdam, and New York City.

At London's Madame Tussauds, the Duchess is wearing a replica of the blue Issa dress she wore during her engagement announcement in November 2010. The Duke of Cambridge figurine wears a replica of the Gieves and Hawkes navy two-piece single-breasted suit and an Omega Seamaster watch.

Set before a gold-trimmed red throne, the wax figures do not omit any details of the actual royal couple. A team of artists worked on the figured for four months, and also worked with the original clothing designers to get each detail just right. The figures are the actual height of both Will and Kate.

"The duchess has been the most requested figure since their engagement so there is a huge appetite to see her," said Liz Edwards, public relations manager at Madame Tussauds in London, speaking to Today.com.

"The guests that have been in today have been so excited to see the royal couple, and with it being the Jubilee year we expect visitors from all over the world to come and see them," added the head of PR.

"It's a longstanding and welcome tradition for Madame Tussauds to make figures of members of the royal family and the duke and duchess are looking forward to seeing the coverage from the launch," said a royal spokesperson, according to Today.com.

At the Madame Tussaauds in New York City, the royal couple wears the clothing from the formal BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles last summer. Kate wears a replica of the lilac, floor-length Alexander McQueen gown along with a diamond bracelet and a clutch. William's figurine wears a tuxedo.

In Amsterdam, the waxen Kate has on an imitation of the black lace Alice Temperley gown she wore for the premiere of "War Horse" in London earlier this year.

A fourth set of Will and Kate wax figures will be unveiled later this month at Madame Tussauds Blackpool in northwestern England.
