Kelly Clarkson Loses Engagement Ring, Finds It Soon After
Kelly Clarkson lost her engagement ring, a custom-made canary yellow diamond given to her by fiancé Brandon Blackstock, then apologized to him on stage in front of thousands of fans. Fortunately, she was able to find the ring this weekend after "panicking" for quite a while.
Kelly Clarkson lost her engagement ring but didn't realize it until she was halfway through her set at the Country Music Awards Festival in Nashville, Tenn. Saturday. The "American Idol" winner blamed her misplacing the ring on nerves, then apologized to her fiancé in front of 60,000 fans.
"This is my first official set at a country thing. I've been nervous all day because I wanted to be good for you," she said, following it with an apology. Although she finished the set, it seemed she could have misplaced her expensive ring from music executive fiancé Blackstock for good.
She ran offstage after the concert to search for the ring, but could not find it immediately. She finally tweeted the next morning that the missing jewelry had been located.
"For all of the concerned fans I FOUND MY RINGS!!! Seriously, panicked in my head all night long … so did Brandon haha!" she wrote on the microblogging site.
The 31-year-old singer and Blackstock, stepson of country singer Reba McEntire and talent manager, became engaged Dec. 14 of last year and plan to be married Oct. 20 of this year. She promised previously not to be a "bridezilla" about the upcoming nuptials.
"I'm going to be like, Oh, the cake fell of the porch, that's fine, that's cool,'" explained the Grammy Award-winning singer to People magazine previously. "'Cool, something's on fire, cool, whatever, we'll move it. We'll get married over there.' I'm going to be that girl."
"I never really thought I'd get married, so it's kind of cool that I fell in love and I'm getting married," she said.
