Kelly Clarkson Pregnant? Singer Slams Rumors as Wedding Plans Change
Kelly Clarkson shut down reports that she is expecting a child with fiancé Brandon Blackstock this week.
The "Stronger" singer sparked rumors of a pregnancy after she confirmed drastic changes to her wedding plans.
Nevertheless, Clarkson promptly squashed the speculation on Thursday.

"FYI… Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant," Clarkson posted to her Twitter followers. "We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony."
Whereas Clarkson previously stated that she wanted an "earthy wedding," the Grammy Award-winning singer now says she is dropping the hassle of planning an elaborate ceremony altogether.
"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and we were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope,'" the singer told People magazine. "We just got so overwhelmed by it, all the decisions."
Brides often struggle with the stress of planning a wedding, and an increasing number of weddings are taking place at vacation destinations such as Las Vegas. As a result, couples are opting to elope over the price of weddings, time consumption, and shifting attitudes, according to ABC News.
However, it was more than just the stress of planning a wedding that got to Clarkson and Blackstock. Details about the singer's special wedding day were leaking to the press, posing threats to the privacy and security of the event.
"We sent out a save-the-date and then it got crazy and all the details were leaked," said the "American Idol" alum, according to People.
Clarkson also cited her busy schedule, which includes working on her new Christmas album as well as a safe driving campaign with State Farm Insurance and, as factors in her decision to elope.
"Our whole life is a celebration," she added, according to People. "That's what we kept laughing about. We don't need another day where we throw a big party. Our lives are so in the spotlight all the time. Everything is such a spectacle, we were like, 'We would rather have an intimate moment that's special.'"
Meanwhile, Clarkson's views on her relationship with Blackstock are much simpler than her initial wedding plans.
"It's not a try-hard situation, it's just easy," she said of the rapport with her fiancé, according to New York Daily News. "It's work- after a year and a half that puppy chase [is over] and reality starts to set in, but it's fun work. We're very similar. It's easy."
The pair had originally set the wedding date for Oct. 20, but Clarkson has not revealed if that has changed.
