Kim Kardashian Baby Born Early Due to 'Medical Complications'
Kim Kardashian allegedly suffered medical complication before her baby was born, forcing a much earlier birth date than expected according to reports.
While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West appear to be at ease now after celebrating the birth of their first child, just before the baby was born doctors were concerned about the child's health. Kardashian's baby was born several weeks early and at birth, weighed less than five pounds, according to Radar Online.
The early birth was a result of "medical complications" after Kardashian was diagnosed with having an infection.
"Her doctor made the decision the baby needed to be delivered," one source told People.
Other sources confirmed to Radar that the baby was placed in an incubator just after birth and closely monitored, although she appears to be healthy now. Relatives of Kardashian confirmed on Twitter that both the mother and baby had recovered well, though details about the complications were withheld until "the time is right."
"I can not even begin 2describe the miracle that is now apart of our family. Mommy/baby are healthy*resting. We appreciate all of the love," Khloe Kardashian Odom tweeted on Sunday. "More info will come when the time is right! Thank you all for understanding! We love you dearly! Overwhelmed with love right now ♥"
Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, also confirmed that Kim and her daughter were doing well.
"She's doing great and she's beautiful," the Kardashian matriarch, 57, told HLN on Sunday night at the Daytime Emmys. "We're all fine. We're all good and extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby."
Kanye West was supportive of Kardashian and eager to see his daughter arrive through the complications, sources said.
"Yeah he was there [at the hospital]. He's so cute. He doesn't leave the room. He's, like, in love with the baby. It's so cute," Larsa Pippen told E!.
