Kim Kardashian Divorce: Will Kris Humphries Sign Divorce Papers?
Kris Humphries is reportedly refusing to sign the divorce papers that Kim Kardashian filed after 72 days of marriage and over a week of media speculation.
A close friend of Humphries reportedly told Life & Style magazine the Minnesota bred NBA player did not support divorce.
"He's not signing," Humphries friend said. "He doesn't believe in divorce.
The currently unemployed basketball player released a statement reflecting these sentiments after Kardashian announced the divorce.
"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," Humphries representative said. "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
Although it was not confirmed whether Kardashian cancelled engagements and flew to Minnesota in an attempt to persuade Humphries to sign papers, sources reported the pair met with the pastor that officiated their wedding.
Pastor Joel Johnson expressed a desire to reconcile the couple after news of the divorce broke.
"I would love to connect with Kim and try to pull the reins back and redirect this energy in a more redemptive way," said Johnson.
The twosome met for two hours with Johnson, who has known the ball player since he was a child. Despite reports that Humphries was interested in reconciliation with his wife, E! reported that he was trying to make the process painless.
"It is not true that Kris is not going to sign the divorce papers,” a source told the network. “He's sad. He doesn't want a war. He's laying low.”
Although it has yet to be confirmed that Humphries signed any divorce papers, Kardashian was spotted getting back to work in Atlanta on the set of Tyler Perry’s latest film, “The Marriage Counselor.”
