Lady Gaga Tells Fans 'Judas the Demon I Cling to'

Lady Gaga, who headlined the KIIS FM Jingle Ball concert Saturday, has told her fans that Jesus Christ would not exist without Judas.

Before belting out lyrics to the song “Judas” that include, “Jesus is my virtue, and Judas is the demon I cling to,” Gaga attempted to educate her audience about some of her religious views during the holiday concert.

“Christmas is all about Jesus Christ, you know," Gaga said before performing her controversial “Judas” record. “If there weren't a Judas, there wouldn't be a Jesus Christ.”

Gaga, who also recorded a Christmas EP based off of her Thanksgiving Special, also sang her rendition of “White Christmas” during the Jingle Ball concert. However, the singer opted out of using “Christ” to sing about the holiday, instead deciding to call it “Kissmas.”

"I always sound funny singing Christmas, so I'm changing it to Kissmas," she told the audience.

She attempted to further educate her audience about the holiday.

“Always remember I was the one who told you the truth about Christmas,” Gaga said. “To everyone who's listening, Santa Claus is real."

Gaga is no stranger to controversy surrounding her “Judas” song and use of Christian symbolism. The singer’s former creative director, Laurieann Gibson, even spoke about being uncomfortable working with Gaga on the “Judas” video.

“At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, 'Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me,’” Gibson said. “I believe in the Gospel and I'm not going there."

Bill Donahue, president of The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, has spoken out to “Hollywood Life” about Gaga in the past.

“This is a stunt, Lady Gaga tries to continue to shock Catholics and Christians in general,” Donahue said in the statement. “She dresses as a nun, she swallows the rosary. She has now morphed into a caricature of herself.”
