Lindsey Lohan Praised in Court Appearance

Lindsey Lohan was praised in court on Tuesday by the judge for fulfilling the requirement of her probation in a timely manner.

The Los Angeles Times says Lohan, who has to report to court each month, was told by Judge Stephanie Sautner that if she continues attending her court ordered Psychotherapy and 12 sessions of community service at the Los Angeles morgue, she can end her five years probation.

“She has done it all on schedule,” Judge Sautner said during the hearing. “Keep doing what you are doing. You appear to be doing it well.”

The troubled actress is serving probation following a DUI charge and a 2011 conviction for stealing a $2,500 necklace in a Venice Beach, Los Angeles jewelry store. Lohan joked about the theft on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show after a special which aired after the Oscars.

But the company wasn’t laughing. Video footage from the store was licensed to The Associated Press showing Lindsey trying on the jewelry and eventually leaving the store.

“With regard to the question of Lindsay Lohan's guilt or innocence, we repeat that Kamofie and Company never gave permission to Ms. Lohan to remove the necklace from the store,” said the store’s crisis management representative Christopher Spencer, in a statement.

“The rest is up to the jury.”

The video would have greatly impacted the case, which is Lohan’s most serious charge to date. She pleaded guilty and escaped a more severe sentence surrounding the felonious grand theft.

Lohan continued to violate probation by missing therapy sessions and community service at a women’s center. Judge Sautner sentenced the star to 30 days in jail and ordered her to complete community service at the county morgue as a janitor.

Although she spent less than five hours in jail, Lohan has completed the terms of her probation regularly after the jail time. Sautner had also warned Lohan that if she continued probation, she would be sent back to jail for 270 days.

“Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work,” Sautner told Lohan at a December hearing. “You are doing well, and I would like to see it continue.”

The actress has not worked often since her 2007 charges. Recently, she posed for Playboy and is being considered by executive producer Larry Thompson for the role of Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic.
