Madonna's Daughter Lourdes Leon Smoking at 15
Lourdes "Lola" Leon was recently photographed smoking cigarettes on the streets of New York City with friends on Friday and critics are blaming the teen's mother, Madonna, for glamorizing the deadly habit in her latest music video.
The 15-year-old sported a nose ring and appeared to be relaxed as she puffed away with male companions, despite being three years shy of the legal smoking age in the U.S., according to Daily Mail.
Madonna, 53, has been accused of setting a bad example for the 10th grader in her music video for the new single "Girl Gone Wild," which was recently banned and made available only to those 18 and older on social networking website YouTube.
"While we don't comment on individual videos, we review all videos flagged by our users against our community guidelines. In some cases we restrict flagged material that, while not in violation of those guidelines, contains images that may be unsuitable for younger users," a representative at YouTube said in a recent statement.
The controversial music video features semi nudity, simulated masturbation, and shows the singer glamorously smoking, which some critics suspect is the reason that Lourdes has picked up the habit.
Fans took to social networking website Twitter to weigh in on the matter, and while some were outraged others were not surprised.
"Oh gawd. lourdes leon was caught smoking. Not cool gurl. Not cool at all. I'm sorry, but she's only 15. That's not right." Annie Armenian tweeted.
"Oh please, her mum cant say much. She's beaten her daughter to pretty much anything controversial!" brodiewest tweeted.
"But r we really surprised? RT @peacefmonline: Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon caught smoking at the tender age of 15." Josh Ampadu tweeted.
This is the second time this year that Lourdes has shocked the public, following a February incident where the fashion designer spontaneously shaved one side of her head.
