Marlo Hampton Sounds Off On Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes
Marlo Hampton, the socialite who became popular on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," is speaking out against the reality television show's star NeNe Leakes.
Hampton, 38, took to her personal Typepad blog, Musings From The Boudoir, to speak about her defunct friendship with 46-year-old Leakes.
"When I first started spending time with NeNe, (who initially was not too happy about me being on RHOA, but then 'appeared' to take me under her wing), I didn't let the warnings from Kandi and Phaedra deter me from giving her the benefit of the doubt." Hampton wrote. "I looked up to her as a big sister since she and my oldest sister, (who is 8 years my senior and full of wisdom) are the same age. I really thought she understood where I came from and how I was trying to change my life for the better, just as she had done... (I guess I should have listened to the ladies, huh? Sorry)."

Hampton only appeared in the series during its fourth season and did not return for the fifth. Although she has made a few appearances during the sixth season, fans witnessed her become Leakes bridesmaid last year in the latter's spinoff series "I Dream of NeNe."
However, Leakes previously made it clear that she is no longer friends with Hampton.
"When Marlo and I worked on 'Real Housewives [of Atlanta],' she was just appearing here and there," Leakes told Entertainment Weekly recently. "When we worked on 'I Dream of NeNe,' I could see her business sense, and it just wasn't attractive." NeNe told Entertainment Weekly. "After working with Marlo on the show, I could see why she was not a housewife because she's super difficult. She's super extra."
Hampton ended her recent blog with some words about humility that may have been aimed at Leakes.
"That 'taste' of Hollywood is like fresh, sweet ice cream. The only problem is, eventually it will melt and the 'taste' will fade leaving not even a linger of flavor," Hampton wrote. "Perhaps some of us should learn the meaning of humility because just like an elevator, the people you put off, might be the same ones you want to hold the door when you're trying to get back on."
