Miley Cyrus Occupy Wall Street Video Goes Viral

Miley Cyrus celebrated her 19th birthday this week and showed off her more mature side by releasing a viral video in support of the Occupy protesters.

The video displays footage of the Occupy protests from various cities, with Cyrus' empowering and upbeat song Liberty Walk playing in the background.

The 3 minute video opens with the statement, "This is dedicated to the thousands of people who are standing up for what they believe in."

The former Hannah Montana star, who is one of Hollywood's biggest teen idols, is receiving online praise with social network users calling Cyrus "an inspiration" for creating what they're saying is "meaningful music."

The praise comes following recent criticisms over the singer's fluctuating weight, with social network site YouTube abuzz with a growing number of videos that mock and exaggerate her supposed weight gain.

Cyrus recently hit back at the nasty taunts with ABC reporting, "On Nov. 11 the teen star posted a photo of an emaciated woman alongside a Tweet to her more than three million followers, writing, ‘By calling girls like me fat, this is what you’re doing to other people’.”

The daughter of famed musician Billy Ray Cyrus took to Twitter where she tweeted, “I love MYSELF & if you could say the same… I don’t wanna be shaped like a girl I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man won’t mind either.”

The young singer is said to have celebrated her 19th birthday earlier this week and in style, with good friend Kelly Osbourne throwing what Miley described as, “The best partyyyy ever!” through Twitter.

Although a growing number of celebrities including Anne Hathaway, Kanye West, and Michael Moore have made physical appearances at the Occupy Wall Street protests in support of the growing movement, there is no word on whether Cyrus plans to make a physical appearance.
