Motorola X Smartphone to Launch With 4.8-Inch Sapphire Glass Display
There have been many rumors regarding a new high-end Motorola smartphone and new information has surfaced this week revealing its display size and battery.
PhoneArena is reporting that the handset now known as the Motorola X will feature a 4.8-inch display made from sapphire glass and a 4,000mAh battery. This information seems to line up well with an earlier report from Google's CEO Larry Page, when he stated that future Motorola smartphones would feature better batteries and impact-resistant designs.
There were also more specifications revealed in this report including corners being made with rubber bumpers, a carbon fiber back case, and a quad-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. PhoneArena also stated that the device will be water resistant and will launch sometime around November.

Androidworld.nl recently received information on the specifications for the upcoming device. However, the site claimed to have two conflicting sources, and the report did not match up with this recent one by PhoneArena.
9to5Google wasn't sold on these specifications for this Google device based on what Larry Page told the site in a conference call. Page stated that Google's goal with this device is to have it withstand drops and have long battery life. The current report lines up much better with Page's comments.
The first reports of this smartphone surfaced back in January, when a job listing for project manager for a device called the X-Phone was discovered on Motorola's web site. The listing was removed a few minutes after it was posted, but its existence confirmed that Motorola and Google were collaborating on some kind of smartphone.
Google normally launches a new Nexus flagship device each year. In 2011, the company released the Galaxy Nexus with Samsung and in 2012 launched the Nexus 4 with LG. Both of these devices impressed critics and ran Android at an optimum level.
