New iMac and iPad Mini Experiencing Production Issues, Possible Supply Shortage?
The new iMac computers and iPad Mini tablets are both experiencing production issues that could lead to a supply shortage lasting until 2013.
DigiTimes is now reporting that Apple is unable to produce these devices fast enough in order to meet customer demand.
The issue with production is related to the displays on both devices. The panels for the iPad Mini have reportedly seen low yield rates, hurting Apple's chances of reaching its goal to ship 10 million units before the end of 2012. The company will most likely only be able to ship bout 6 million.

The iMacs are also having display issues on the production line.
The new models use panels sourced from LGD, a company who has had to develop a new production process in order to mass produce panels for the iMac, which is delaying shipments.
Both of these products will not be produced at optimum levels until the first quarter of 2013.
The new iMac models will be released on Friday Nov. 30 though, according to new reports.
Apple announced yesterday that the new iMac model which debuted earlier this year will officially go on sale this Friday.
The 21.5-inch model will be the first version available in various retail outlets while the 27-inch model will not begin shipping until September.
"The 21.5-inch iMac will be available through the Apple Online Store, Apple's retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers," wrote Apple. "The 27-inch iMac will be available for order through the Apple Online Store and will begin shipping in December."
The next-generation iMac's body is 80 percent thinner than the previous model, and features edge-to-edge glass on its display.
Apple also has made the computer 8 lbs. lighter and has given it a FaceTime HD camera in the front, dual microphones, a stereo sound system, an SDXC card slot, 4 USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolt ports, and a mini display output with support for DVI, VGA, and dual-link DVI.
