Rihanna, Katy Perry Feud Over? Singers Snap Best Friends Picture at Album Release Party
Fans of musical icons Katy Perry and Rihanna should feel better that the two have reconciled after Rihanna posted a playful picture of the two at a recent event on her Instagram account.
The pair was at the pre-album release party for Perry's upcoming effort Prism, and the two starlets of the entertainment industry seemed to have put away any animosity between them.
"She. X She. #KatyAnna #RIHunited," Rihanna captioned the photo that was posted to her Intsagram account.
The two had a reported falling out after a recent interview was published that suggested Perry thought the Bajan singer needed saving from the dark side of the entertainment industry.
Social networking sites Facebook and Twitter erupted with heated debates about Perry and Rihanna's seemingly strained friendship after the "Hot N Cold" singer's interview with Elle U.K. went viral.
"I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light that she has. There's a lot of dark in this business," Perry told Elle without naming anyone specific.
"I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages -- they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate but you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over," she explained.
While fans were quick to criticize Perry's interview and critics have pointed out that the pop star did not actually specify who exactly she believes has "detrimental entourages."
A source close to Rihanna reportedly responded to Perry's interview by reiterating that the "Diamonds" singer is not affected by the "dark side" of showbiz because she has faith in God.
"Rihanna doesn't need to be saved by anyone. The man upstairs is to whom she owes everything. That's who brought her here and that's who she's leaving with!" a source close to the singer told HollywoodLife.com.
In November 2012, it was claimed that Perry had ended her friendship with Rihanna because she did not approve of Brown. Rihanna reconciled with Brown in 2012 three years after he was convicted of assaulting her.
