Samsung Galaxy S3 Name for Next Galaxy Smartphone Confirmed
Samsung has confirmed that it will be naming the "next Galaxy" device the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The confirmation came from a Samsung executive who dropped the word on the company's Q1 earnings call yesterday evening.
The Galaxy S has been the flagship smartphone for the company who will be launching the third generation version at its Mobile Unpacked event set to take place in London, England on May 3.

This seems like a simple decision for Samsung, who has enjoyed much success with the Galaxy line of smartphones. The Galaxy S2 played a huge role in achieving strong revenue for the company since its launch last year.
Samsung has also confirmed that the next Galaxy device will feature the company's new 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor.
Other rumored specifications for the device include a 4.7-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera, 16GB of storage, and a 2,050mAh battery.
Samsung sent out an invite to the event last week called "Come and meet the next Galaxy," where the company will finally unveil the long anticipated Galaxy S3.
Samsung is also rumored to be unveiling the next-generation Galaxy Tab at the event as well.
The company recently stated that the Galaxy S3 launch and unveiling will take place close together. This means Galaxy fans should be able to get their hands on the smartphone sometime next month.
The device is expected to launch on all of the major carriers in the U.S. including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon.
Verizon passed on the Galaxy S2 in order to acquire the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, however, it seems that the company will carry the Galaxy S3 after it was seen on a leaked release roadmap from the company.
Samsung is also expected to release a successor to the Galaxy Nexus in 2012 that runs Android 5.0, JellyBean.
