Samsung's Smart TVs Set to Feature Voice and Motion Controls
Samsung has recently unveiled its next line of Smart TVs that will introduce voice and motion controls to the user interface.
Samsung's president of consumer electronics, Boo-keun Yoon, unveiled the firm's flagship LED television at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. During the announcement, he stated that the new TV model will let users "listen, see and do what you want, without ever touching the remote control."
Tim Baxter, Samsung’s U.S. president of consumer electronics, stated that the company is on course to hit a milestone of 20 million global TV app downloads before the end of January.

Samsung first launched its line of Smart TV’s in 2008. The next line of Smart TV’s will begin with the release of the ES8000 LED TV.
The dual-core processor allows the TV to perform multiple tasks all at one time. Users can work between the TV, its web browser and applications such as Netflix.
The ES8000 also utilizes facial recognition technology. Users will be able to log into their personal profiles on the TV. The built-in camera also allows users to browse the internet and change the channel with a wave of their hand. The TV recognizes up to 20 different languages through its voice recognition.
The facial recognition technology can also be used to recognize someone and pull up relevant information about their favorite TV shows, apps, websites etc.
Content will be accessed through the Smart TV Hub UI. That menu includes other features, such as "Family Story." This app lets users upload photos and videos from a mobile device to the TV. Other special hubs for fitness content and kid-related content will also be added.
The ES8000 release date was only said to be "sometime this year."
New apps announced at the trade show from Samsung included Rovio's "Angry Birds" video game. Samsung also announced that its users would be given free access to a new Angry Birds on-demand animated television channel.
Samsung announced other upcoming products this past Sunday at the Consumer Electronics Show. The InTouch, which converts regular TVs into smart TV's, was shown. The converter will retail for the price of $199.
On Monday, a 55-inch Super OLED TV, a connected washer/dryer, and connected camera line were all announced during Samsung’s keynote. In addition, two Samsung devices will come with 4G network capabilities: the Galaxy Note phone and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet.
Samsung introduced its new Series 9 Notebook. It was deemed as "the thinnest premium notebook on the market." It measures just half an inch thick and weighs 2.2 pounds. It also boots up in just under 10 seconds.
The Series 5 Ultra ultra-thin laptop was shown as well. Samsung says Web browsing on the laptop is twice as fast as on last-generation notebooks.
