Scarlett Johansson Leaked Photos 2011: Hacker Apologizes to Celebrities (VIDEO)
The man who allegedly hacked into Scarlett Johannson's and other celebrities' personal email accounts apologized Wednesday after he was arrested by the FBI.
"I deeply apologize. I know what I did was probably one of the worst invasions of privacy someone could experience," Christopher Chaney told a CNN affiliate Wednesday.
The 35-year-old Florida man was arrested in Jacksonville Wednesday morning. Chaney has been charged with 26 counts of hacking in connection to hacked accounts of over 50 celebrities, including Johansson, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera.
In an interview with Action News of Jacksonville, Florida, Chaney was asked what he did with the information he found in the emails.
"Nothing, it was almost like a completely uncensored," Chaney said. "I wasn't saving the emails to blackmail someone."
Chaney was then asked why he did it.
"It started as curiosity and it turned to just being addictive," Chaney replied. "Seeing the behind the scenes of what's going on with people you see on the big screen."
Chaney obtained photos by hacking into his victims' email accounts and forwarding them to his own.
The Florida man "also took identity information, movie scripts and conversations that the celebrities believed to be private," U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte Jr. told reporters Wednesday.
Chaney faces 121 years in prison if found guilty on all counts.
