The Last of Us 2 Launching for the PS4 Alongside Uncharted 4?
Video game developer Naughty Dog might currently be working on two major releases for the PS4, according to a recent report.
It is already common knowledge that the company is working on Uncharted 4, but a Game Informer interview with its co-presidents points to the possibility of their being another big game in development which could be a sequel to The Last of Us.
Naughty Dog split into two parts to create Uncharted 3 and the first Last of Us. Those two parts are still working separately, but it is unclear what for.
"We definitely have another project on the scale of Uncharted in very early pre-production stages," said Naughty Dog's Evan Wells to the magazine. "We have the sizable team that it takes to get something like that off of the ground, but it's got a long runway in front of it. We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it's a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail."
Wells also stated that The Last of Us leads Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann are working on Uncharted 4 which could mean a totally new game is in development. One possibility could be a Crash Bandicoot reboot. A new Jak and Daxter could also be in the works.
The Last of Us is regarded as one of the best games to hit the PS3. There will definitely be a sequel for the PS4, but fans might have to wait until Uncharted 4 is out for that to happen.
Naughty Dog burst on the scene in the late 1990s with the release of the original Crash Bandicoot for PlayStation.
