CPAC: Vivek Ramaswamy warns of 3 secular religions, proposes 'national revival' not separation
Presidential candidate calls for 'declaration of independence from China'
4. Declaration of Independence from China
Highlighting his belief in the Declaration of Independence, Ramaswamy called for a Declaration of Independence from China.
“If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, that is the Declaration of Independence he would sign,” he declared. “That is the Declaration of Independence I will sign if I’m elected as your next president.”
“We are in trouble when we have a codependent relationship with our enemy,” he warned.
Referring to the Cold War that defined American policy for nearly all of the second half of the 20th century, Ramaswamy differentiated the conflict with China from the previous U.S. rivalry with the Soviet Union: “They never put the shoes on our feet, they never put the phones in our pocket.”
“We’re in a codependent relationship with our enemy,” he added, emphasizing that “codependent relationships do not end well.”
“They send the fentanyl across our southern border, they send the digital fentanyl through TikTok, financial fentanyl in the form of the national debt that’s created this addictive relationship to China. We declare independence. We’re done with financial fentanyl, digital fentanyl, actual fentanyl.”
As part of implementing a Declaration of Independence from China, Ramaswamy pledged to “ban most U.S. businesses from doing business in China until the [Chinese Communist Party] falls or until the CCP radically reforms itself.”
