Whitney Houston's Family Reveal How They Celebrated Late Singer's 50th Birthday
Whitney Houston, the late singer, would have been 50-years-old on Aug. 9, and her family recently revealed how they celebrated her life this year.
"We are celebrating with a private dinner at our home here in Georgia," Pat Houston, the singer's sister-in-law revealed to reporter Kevin Frazier recently. "That was one of Whitney's favorite birthday celebrations."
Houston's sister-in-law and manager revealed why it was important for people to come together in celebration for Whitney's birthday, despite her death last year.

"It's a very emotional time for all of us but she would want us to celebrate with peace, love and happiness," Pat continued. "Today we celebrate a legacy of a matchless gift: Whitney Houston. The last song she recorded was 'Come on and Celebrate' written by R. Kelly. To all of her fans, let's celebrate with with divine peace, love and joy."
The late singer's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, took to Twitter to post a special message for her mother before what would have been her 50th birthday.
"I love you mommy.There will Never Be Another," Brown tweeted. "I have YOUR blood running through my veins & I intend 2 make thee best of what YOU'VE given me."
The singer's daughter went on to speak about the memories of her mother.
"I'll Miss YOU 4 the rest of the Life I have. I know ur always with us & TRUST I'll 4 ever cherish memories we've had," she tweeted. "The 18 yrs God blessed me 2 have with YOU."
The singer's good friend and fellow recording artist Brandy Norwood also took to Instagram to publicly wish Houston a happy birthday.
"Happy Birthday to the greatest voice of ALL TIME, Whitney Houston," Norwood wrote. "You are forever in my heart and soul! Forever my fairy god MOTHER! I love you."
