Beyonce Knowles Tells Blue Ivy She Can Be President

Beyonce Knowles, the 31-year-old singer and mother to Blue Ivy Carter, recently revealed that she has visions of her daughter with husband and rapper Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter becoming the U.S. president one day.

"I'm telling my daughter every day, you know you can be president, you know it's possible," she said in a "Chime For Change" video. "I know she has no idea why I'm saying that, but at one year old, I'm like, you know you can be president."

Knowles is one of the spokeswoman for Chime for Change, the initiative created by Gucci's global campaign. The singer will perform for The Sound of Change Live concert alongside Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine and Rita Ora to highlight women's issues at London's Twickenham Stadium this summer.

The singer has been vocal about the lessons she is teaching her daughter and said the most important one will be about outward appearance.

"My biggest thing is to teach [Blue] not to focus on the aesthetic," Beyonce previously told People magazine, the publication that named her the most beautiful woman in the world last year. "It's really about who you are, and the human being, that makes you beautiful."

The Grammy Award-winning singer told the magazine that giving birth made her feel truly beautiful.

"I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," Knowles told People. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."

Although the singer made it clear that her daughter could serve as president one day, she has thanked the current first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, for being a positive example for Blue Ivy.

"Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us," Beyonce wrote in a Tumblr post last year. "I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to."
