Brown previously announced her engagement to Gordon on Twitter. However, the daughter of the famed singers Houston and Bobby Brown revealed what her mother would think about her romantic union if she were still living.

While some media outlets have claimed that Houston adopted Gordon and called him Brown's brother, the daughter of the late singer took to Facebook to set the record straight.

"I'm tired of hearing people say eww you're engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this," Brown wrote on Facebook. "Let me clear up something, we aren't even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him."

Brown went on to reveal that her mother predicted she and Gordon would one day make their relationship romantic.

"In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you," Brown wrote in the Facebook post. "A lot of yall are saying that y'all are only saying this all out of love. Which is bull because if that was so, all you would want is for me to be happy. (SIC)"

Brown, an aspiring singer and actress, went on to speak out about those judging her relationship.

"People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Pretty sure it's my own decision who I want to be with," she wrote. "...It is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you."
