'Honey Boo Boo' Gets Bodyguard to Ensure Safety After Break In
After a sudden rise to fame, Alana Thomson and her family may not feel safe in their family home. "Mama" June Shannon has confirmed via Facebook that her daughter now has a permanent bodyguard to help protect her from fans or possible kidnappers.
The Thompson family's home was broken into on Aug. 27 while the family was away. Shannon told police that "the side door of the residence was open," according to police reports. Thankfully the family was not at home and nothing was taken or out of order.
Soon after, the family was assigned a police detail, reported Celebuzz. Thompson's fame makes her extremely vulnerable to obsessive fans- both those who don't mean the child any harm, and those that might.

To date there have been no known or official kidnapping plots staged against little Alana, but the security detail will certainly help ensure her safety. One story printed by The National Enquirer claimed that there was a kidnapping plot, but those dubious allegations are unfounded and unsubstantiated at this time.
Actress Rosie O'Donnell has offered to purchase the family a new home.
"I love 'em all," she recently told People magazine. "I'd love to meet them and buy them a house."
Perhaps the Thompson family could use a new residence, but for now at least, they are staying put. New episodes of the popular "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" series have been ordered and will begin filming soon. Part of the family's appeal is their down-to-earth attitude and fans enjoy seeing them interact in their "everyday" home.
Should the family choose to move, though, the new raise provided by The Learning Channel (TLC) could help. At first, family members were only paid approximately $5,000 per episode, but reports recently stated that TLC upped their payments to $20,000 per episode.
