Lady Gaga Has Her Name Stolen, Legal Battle Set to Commence
Chicago based company, Excite Worldwide, is being sued by singer Lady Gaga in a lawsuit filed through the Manhattan Supreme Court for marketing a line of cosmetics and jewelry using the name, Lady Gaga by Design.
Lady Gaga wants to put an end to the confusion due to her own development of endorsed products that include candles, bags, lanyards, wigs, and even tattoos.
Gaga's team of lawyers has also accused Excite Worldwide of slowing down the process of trade marking the Gaga name and likeness. They have filed claims of frivolous trademark applications because of the companies' request for "Lady Gaga" and "Lady Gaga Fame."

Applications to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office have not been approved, resulting in Lady Gaga not being able to move forward with her own products with complete freedom. However, Excite Worldwide has also been temporarily blocked.
According to NME, Gaga has said, "I've been working on that. I've been planning the next tour, which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look."
Aside from this one reason, Lady Gaga also has no affiliation with Excite Worldwide and doesn't want her fans to be fooled into believing so.
Gaga's attorney, Brad D. Rose had this to say, "As long as someone is ahead of us on line – even if they are on life support – they are still blocking us," according to CelebrityGossip.net.
