Leah Messer's Daughter Ali's Health Deteriorating; Leah Questions God's Will
It's been a bumpy ride for "Teen Mom" Leah Messer ever since her twins, Ali and Aleeah, were born prematurely. Daughter Ali has battled with an undiagnosed illness that targets her muscles and development, and despite all the physical therapy and extra work, the family recently got some devastating news about her condition and future.
"Things went from bad to worse with Ali, and it turns out that she could have to be in a wheelchair soon. This is why Leah and Jeremy have to move out of their new house. They need a house without stairs that's more handicapped accessible for Ali. They are also planning on getting a place that allows horses because that will be part of Ali's therapy," a family friend told Radar Online.
Messer and her twin daughters with ex-husband Corey Simms, became famous on "16 & Pregnant" and four seasons of "Teen Mom." She and Simms have continued to co-parent their daughters, which means going to doctor appointments and enduring all the hardships that go along with having an ill daughter.
"Every few months we make a journey full of hope only to go home with our hearts ripped out," Corey's father Jeff Simms tweeted in mid-July.
During a doctor's appointment in mid-July, her "mitochondrial disease" will progressively get worse, to the point where she will need a wheelchair full-time.
"Apparently the muscles will start to deteriorate and she will most likely lose the ability to walk. [Leah] was wrecked by the news, because they had a lot of hope that she would continue to improve," the source revealed.
It was evident by her Twitter feed that Leah was incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the situation.
"After purchasing our first home together and now moving for the reasons we are is hard to adjust to, but I know it is best for our family! Angry is how I feel… No explanation. I hope this is your will god and someday you can give me an explanation," Messer tweeted.
However, since the news broke, Messer has received a great deal of support from her family, friends, and fans.
"There is light at the end of the tunnel! #ProudWife #ProudMommy My family is all that matters, they'll never stop believing in me," she later tweeted.
Only time will tell what Ali's future holds, but she is surrounded by loved ones and a lot of people are praying for her healing and strength.
