Weather Woman's Spider Scare Goes Viral: Kristi Gordon Freaks Out During Live Broadcast (VIDEO)

A weather woman's spider scare went viral when the meteorologist was frightened by the projection of the bug on the screen Friday. In the middle of attempting to tell viewers the weather for the upcoming week, Kristi Gordon got so scared she nearly ran off screen during the live broadcast.

The weather woman's spider incident happened during the Canadian news channel Global BC's broadcast. Gordon's first slide went through without a hitch, but when producers switched to a webcam view of the outdoors, a large spider was projected right behind the meteorologist's head, which she could see on a screen.

"Still today though, significant rainfall on the way," she began. "And for our area, so let's— oh my gosh!" she exclaimed when she first saw the arachnid.

"That was creepy!" she said. Producers tried to calm her down, reminding her that it wasn't in the studio with her. It still scared her, though.

"I am so sorry, you know what it just really creeps me out," she said, laughing. After the incident she assured those behind the camera that she could still continue the broadcast.

The spider incident went viral, picking up 3.4 million hits in just a few days. Gordon now has fans from all over who found her reaction hilarious.

"I, for one, welcome our new arachnid overlords," Leigh joked on the News.com.au blog.

"Could have been worse – she could have gotten ants in her pants," another user said.

Gordon confessed afterwards to "freaking out" when it comes to spiders and other creepy crawly critters.

"I was crying! I just didn't want to show on-air so I kept laughing to regroup. RT @jewelsills:I would have been the same. I would have cried," she wrote from her Twitter account @KGordonGlobalBC.

"Embarrassingly not the first time freaked out by spiders, bugs, snakes and Halloween," she added.
