  Massive celebrations erupted in Cairo as Muslim Brotherhood's – Mohammed Morsi – was officially declared the new president of Egypt. Authorities were on "high alert" for potential violence if Ahmed Shafiq had won. Shafiq was Morsi's rival and former Vice President to Hosni Mubarek.

  A federal appeals court has struck down a Federal Communications Commission policy on indecency. The court determined that regulations barring the use of "fleeting expletives" on radio and television violated the First Amendment because they were vague and could inhibit free speech.

  Southern Baptists have made history by electing their first African-American president: Reverend Fred Luter. The 16-million member organization is the second-largest denomination in the U-S-- behind only the Catholic Church. It was less than 20 years ago when the Southern Baptist Convention officially apologized for condoning and perpetuating racism.

  The 84-year-old former president of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, is clinically dead according to some reports. The state-run Middle East News Agency said he died shortly after arriving yesterday at a military hospital in Cairo, after suffering a stroke and cardiac arrest .

  Saudi Arabia has a new Crown Prince. Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz has been named, putting him next in line to the throne of the oil-rich kingdom. He is 76 and keeps his post as Defense Minister and also becomes deputy Prime Minister. The death of Salman's brother – previous Crown Prince, Nayef bin Abdulaziz – was announced over the weekend. Reports say he was suffering from frail health.

  Nic Wallenda made history by crossing over Niagara falls on a tightrope. He accomplished the feat successfully Friday night. He says he got through by it by: ''a lot of praying.'' Staring 20 stories down, the devout Christian could be heard on live TV everywhere saying "thank you Jesus, thank you my father," while adoring fans watched nervously.

  CP World Report: Egypt Election, Syria, Evangelical Code of Ethics, Washington Gay Marriage

  Egypt's supreme court has deemed last year's election unconstitutional and has ordered that parliament's lower house be dissolved, with new parliamentary elections to follow. Many of the seats ruled unconstitutional were won by the Muslim Brotherhood. In a separate ruling, the court also decided that former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq can continue to run for president in elections this weekend.

  Southern Baptists are set to elect their first black President next week, since the founding of the denomination in 1845. It's seen as a big step for an organization that was formed out of a pre-Civil War split with Northern Baptists over slavery.
