Barbara Walters 'Disappointed' in Lindsay Lohan
Barbara Walters has offered commentary this week on Lindsay Lohan canceling an interview with her, yet agreeing to another with Jay Leno.
Lohan canceled the highly anticipated interview with the veteran journalist on Friday.
"She's not doing the interview [with Barbara Walters]," said a source at Lifetime.
It was later revealed that Lohan would appear on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno next week, despite her cancellation on Walters.
Walters said that she was "disappointed" in the cancellation, noting her involvement with the production of Lohan's latest project, "Liz & Dick."
"If they'd said to me, 'She isn't up for the kind of questions you might ask,' … if they had told me that, I wouldn't feel quite as disappointed as I do today," said the 83-year-old broadcaster while on Monday's "The View."
The interview between Walters and Lohan was expected to air this Friday, however, it is said that Walters would adamantly ask about Lohan's recent legal woes and troubled personal life. In cancelling the interview, Lohan is believed to have avoided the hard-pressing questions, according to TMZ.
"I wish Lindsay the best," Walters added. "We would have done a wonderful interview. I hope she feels well. As far as Jay [Leno] goes, I love Jay, more power to him."
Although Walters did not get to speak to Lohan recently, footage captured during a past interview with the actress was revealed on Monday's "The View."
When visiting the set of "Liz & Dick" over the summer, Walters asked Lohan about the incident where paramedics were called to the actress' hotel room while she was sleeping.
"I think I was just honestly tired," the 25-year-old actress explained to Walters in the clip.
Lohan also addressed the incident on Twitter at the time, writing: "Note to self… After working 85 hours in 4 days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door… Hopefully they're cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down."
Meanwhile, Lohan is still on probation for her 2011 theft case and could face further time in jail if found guilty of misdemeanor. Moreover, the actress is suspected to have lied to police about a car accident that occurred in Los Angeles in June.
