'Biggest Loser' Winner Rachel Frederickson 'Lost Too Much Weight,' Says Trainer Jillian Michaels
After "Biggest Loser" winner Rachel Frederickson made her debut, trainer Jillian Michaels was seen mouthing the words "Oh my God" in disbelief. At first the "Biggest Loser" trainer refused to speak about Frederickson's weight loss but now says that she lost too much during her time away from the ranch.
"I was stunned," Michaels told HuffPost Live. "I thought she had lost too much weight. In my opinion, this had fallen through those checks and balances" traditionally imposed by "Biggest Loser" prodcuers and trainers.
Frederickson said that she was very cautious about her weight loss and did everything in a healthy manner, but recently admitted that she might have been "a little too enthusiastic in training to get to the finale."
"We're not comfortable commenting on Rachel's journey because [we] weren't her trainers and weren't given any opportunity to work with her at any point," Michaels initially tweeted after the "Biggest Loser" finale aired.
Now that Frederickson has spoken out, it seems that others are as well. Michaels, who has worked with the "Biggest Loser" for several years expressed concern about Frederickson's weight loss and that "enthusiasm" she mentioned.
"Anybody who gains too much weight or loses too much weight … these are manifestations of the same issue," Michaels explained. "It simply means that somebody is utilizing their relationship with food to manage emotions that are painful, hard, difficult to face or control."
Yet Frederickson sees nothing wrong with her 100-pound weight loss and is happy with the way she looks and feels now.
"What I've learned is I have an inner strength, I have a voice," she told Savannah Guthrie. "I can trust myself. I dieted, I exercised and did it healthy the whole way. I appreciate all the concern and can see where it comes from. I'm so proud of everything I'd accomplished. My journey was my own and I loved it. I really feel proud of what I did."
