Evelyn Lozada Reveals Prayer Made During Ochocinco Assault

Evelyn Lozada, the 37-year-old star of "Basketball Wives" who broke things off with free agent NFL player Chad Johnson one month after marrying him last July because he assaulted her, recently revealed her prayer during the turbulent time.

Lozada and Johnson's domestic dispute made headlines last year. While she has not gone into detail about what happened on the night that caused the NFL player's arrest and loss of a job, the reality television star has revealed that she prayed about the matter after being assaulted.

"I had a skirt on, and I was using the bottom of it to wipe the blood off my face," Lozada recounted about the incident in Latina magazine's August issue. "I could hear Chad's car because he was driving around looking for me and I hid behind that pillar and prayed. I remember praying to God, like, 'If you help me get out of this situation, I will never, ever go back to that man.'"

In the magazine, she also spoke about people believing her aggressive behavior on "Basketball Wives" warranted her assault at the hands of Johnson. However, Lozada has previously taken responsibility for that perception.

"I felt like I was getting blamed for the incident happening. That's what most people connect me with, especially with last season," Lozada told Vibe magazine earlier this year. "I take full responsibility for putting this perception of me out there; that I argue and I just fight."

However, the "Basketball Wives" star pointed out that she was vindicated by Johnson who took full responsibility for their argument turning physical.

"He did an interview and he was honest and real, and I felt finally relieved that he said I didn't have anything to do what happened that way, and he took full responsibility," Lozada told Vibe.

In an interview on ESPN's "First Take," Johnson spoke candidly about the domestic dispute with his estranged wife.

"There was a domestic dispute for one which was all my fault, because I'm living life the way it shouldn't be lived which is why I lost everything I did," Johnson said on the ESPN show last year. "Because that man upstairs is saying let me bring you back a little bit you're a little too wild. So it is what it is, I made my bed I'm laying in it and I paid the price."
