Evelyn Lozada Talks Re-Baptism, Life After 'Basketball Wives'

Evelyn Lozada, the 37-year-old entrepreneur and star of "Basketball Wives," recently opened up about getting re-baptized and ending her stint on reality television.

While Lozada has been vocal about her Christian faith as of late, she made headlines last year for a short-lived marriage to former NFL star Chad Johnson before their union ended in domestic violence. The reality television star turned to life coach Tony Gaskins Jr. and opened up to Latina magazine about her choice to get re-baptized.

"Tony was talking to me about soul ties, and I felt like I needed to cut that cord [with Johnson]. I wanted to do things differently, to start over," Lozada told the publication of her choice to be re-baptized. "I'm still going to be Evelyn, but I have a different vision of my life."

Although she became popular on reality television the "Basketball Wives" star revealed that she had other plans for her career in the future.

"I really don't [see myself doing this forever]. I see myself working behind the scenes - whether it's working on my books or doing stuff on TV shows," Lozada revealed. "I really want to have a family. And if that presented itself to me, I would probably just enjoy the moment because I feel like, with my daughter, it went by so fast!"

Still, fans of "Basketball Wives" will see Lozada on season five of the show which is scheduled for an August premiere. However, Lozada spoke about some changes fans can look forward to seeing in her on the show.

"It's not like I'm going to be super perfect because I was on Iyanla and now I'm Mother Mary, because that's not what it is. But at the same time … let's really think before we speak and not get physical," she told Vibe Vixen magazine earlier this year. "I just have to remind myself of that. It's a daily thing for me because sometimes you're tested."
