iPad 3 Release Event Will Not Take Place Until March

A rumor surfaced yesterday stating the Apple was going to host some kind of "strange" event in order to launch in the iPad 3 in the month of Feb.

Hoewever, according to The Loop's well-connected source, Jim Dalrymple, this information is inaccurate.

"This is not going to happen, according to my sources," he said. "Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise. That's it."

It the past Dalrymple has been accurate when shooting down inaccurate rumors regarding Apple's media events.

This report follows the information provided by Japanese blog yesterday stating that Apple will release the iPad 3 sometime next month and debut the device at a "strange" media event.

The blog also made a claim earlier this month, stating that Apple's contract manufacturers Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron Technolgoy had issued orders for the assembling of next-gen iPads for an early-March launch.

What the sources meant by "strange" is unclear. But now it has seemingly been confirmed that this event will not happen. Apple fans anxious for information and the release date on the next-gen Apple tablet will probably have to wait until at least March.

This story also confirms an earlier Bloomberg report that also backed the March launch timeframe by stating production will reach "full volumes by February." It also claimed that the iPad 3 will have an ultra high resolution display, quad-core processor and LTE functionality.

BGR's report from yesterday also confirmed the new display, LTE and even a debug tool.

With all these sources coming into agreement, there is a strong possibility that Apple fans will see the iPad 3 before the spring. The iPhone 5 is also expected to launch this year and is also rumored to be an LTE device.
