iPhone 5 Release Date: Apple iOS 5 Brings New Features to iPhone, iPads, and iPods
The new iOS 5 hardware revealed at Apple’s iPhone 4S launch event today, encompasses the brains of the iPad and iPod Touch, and will be the main feature of all future Apple products. The new operating system allows users to have complete control of every aspect of their product while having almost the full power of a computer in their hands.
With 250 million iOS devices sold worldwide, it is used 61 percent of the time for mobile browsing.
In addition to the mobile browsing, the iOS is responsible for the domination of the Apps from the app store.
The iOS 5 will feature a camera update where the user can edit photos right on their device without having to use a third party program or app and will include a feature for panorama shots.
It will have a gamecenter with 67 million users already signed up, and tabbed browsing for Safari and Reader.
There are 500,000 apps with 140,000 built specifically for the iPad. The numbers are staggering with 18 billion apps downloaded since the iPhone inception, with a steady increase of 1 billion per month.
Apple unveiled a new App today where the user can create a card through the iOS device, and the app will send the actual card in the mail.
The app will also track this mail, and let the user know when it arrives.
It will be available for free download on Oct. 12.
