Jon Cryer on Charlie Sheen: 'I Feared He Would Die' Following Two and a Half Men Exit

Charlie Sheen's former Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer has revealed that he feared for the health of the star after he was sensationally sacked from the TV hit sitcom earlier this year.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Cryer said “Mostly I was worried that Charlie was going to die. That was the big fear for me.”

Sheen has been in the limelight since his dramatic departure from the show and hospitalizations.

Sheen actually made rude comments about Cryer in the wake of his sacking from the sitcom. However, 46-year-old actor Cryer said that he does not hold any ill-feeling towards Sheen.

In March, Sheen had labeled him as a “turncoat, a traitor, and a troll” for not calling him after he was fired from the show.

Cryer has said they have not spoken since: “I will accept an apology both public and private. But again, it was in the heat of the moment I imagine when he said... so I did not put a whole lot of credence in it at the time.”

Sheen has been replaced in the sitcom by comedy actor Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher plays the role of an internet genius who is wealthy but unlucky in love. The sitcom has a solid fan-base, and commentators are saying that even in the wake of Sheen’s departure the sitcom will carry-on with high ratings.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Today Show host Matt Lauer, Sheen said that he is living a simple life since being fired from the sitcom.

Currently he is spending a lot of time with his five children: “That's where the life is, you know, it is in those quiet moments. “It is not the giant TV deal or the big party or the award or whatever; it's the memory of your child's smile at the end of the day that sort of brings that one lonesome tear.”
