Katy Perry Debuts New, Normal Hairstyle

After sporting several hair styles and colors, Katy Perry has shocked fans by debuting black hair styled into a chic bob this week.

The "California Gurlz" singer has sported hues such as purple and blue over the past few months. Moreover, in years past, Perry has opted for pink, cobalt blue, aqua, blonde, and strawberry-colored hair. Today, her black locks create a more sophisticated and demure look.

Perry stepped out at a photocell for her movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me" in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Monday.

Of her style, Perry has been quoted saying: "I am trying to find a happy medium between crazy and mature," according to WWD.

Furthermore, Perry explained her quest to find a healthy, natural look after taking care of herself with diet and exercise.

"I'm in a really healthy place. I'm working out and on a wonderful meal plan, and I'm taking my vitamins every day," said the 27-year-old. "It's showing up on my physique and face. With all those bonuses, I feel I don't have to wear as much make-up."

Perry's rejuvenated lifestyle arrived around the same time she split from husband Russell Brand in December.

"I'm still doing fun things with my hair," she noted.

A natural brunette, Perry's return to her roots may be an indicator that she is, in fact, in a good place. Happier times are in store for the singer, whose divorce from Brand became finalized last month.

Despite her failed marriage, Perry recently divulged that she has not given up on the idea of love and marriage.

"I'm a woman who likes to be courted, strongly," said the singer, according to Elle magazine. "Never say never, I guess you'd say. I'll let love take the lead on that."

The "Part of Me" singer will appear on the cover of the magazine's September edition, which hits stands Aug. 14.

Perry is up for four 2012 MTV Video Music Awards this year. The award ceremony will air on Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
