Lamar Odom Has a Chance With Lakers, Clippers?

Lamar Odom may still have a shot in the NBA with two of his former teams the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers.

Odom, the 34-year-old NBA free agent and forward, has made headlines in recent weeks for allegedly stepping out on his marriage and battling with a drug addiction that he allegedly only checked into a rehabilitation center for one day to treat. However, he previously refuted claims made by TMZ about an alleged addiction to crack-cocaine and Oxycontin.

Sources recently told ESPN that both teams are interested in signing Odom, provided he can prove that his legal trouble and personal life are in order. The sports website and network is reporting that Odom is gearing up to return to the NBA in the second half of the 2013-2014 season.

Last month, TMZ reported that sources have claimed Odom has tested negative for drug usage after undergoing blood and urine tests. While the publication stated that Odom was going to fly to New York City to meet with basketball personnel about his future in the NBA.

However, he decided to change his mind, reportedly after reading the TMZ report. Odom has denied the allegations of his drug use in the past. During an outing in Studio City, Calif. last month, Odom made sure to take pictures with fans before TMZ reporters questioned if he was doing ok.

"How do I look," Odom questioned before responding to the reporter who acknowledged that he looked great. "There you go."

When asked if he had a drug problem and needed professional help, the NBA forward simply responded, "nah."

Odom averaged 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 82 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz, previously spoke about the athlete's future in the NBA.

"Playing in the NBA is still very much a part of Lamar's plans," Schwartz told ESPN.
