Nokia Lumia 1520 Release: Leaked Photos Reveal Phones Appearance
The Nokia Lumia 1520 release date is expected to be in the this month and new photos have emerged this week showing off the smartphone's appearance.
These pictures showcase the device's hardware and compare it to another handset that looks identical to a Sony Xperia Z1.
Rumored specs for this new Lumia also known as the Nokia Bandit include a 6-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB build-in memory, and a microSD card slot. There hasn't been any confirmation of specs for the camera on the device. However, a point and shooter that looks very similar to what is found on the Nokia Lumia 925 can be seen in the the pictures. The camera is said to have the ability to shoot photos at 5-megapixel and 16-megapixel resolution simultaneously.
The Lumia 1520 will boot Windows Phone 8 with the new GDR3 update. This update includes a Driving Mode feature designed to mute calls and texts automatically when paired by Bluetooth to a car. The software will also come with Rotation lock and improved multitasking changes along with support for custom sounds on text, voice mail, email, and reminders, according to report from The Verge. It will also allow Windows Phone 8 users to restore from backup using Wi-Fi during the initial setup.
The device could feature a stylus since it appears to be a Galaxy Note 3 competitor, but that type of accessory cannot be seen in any of the new pictures.
The Lumia 1520 will compete with a slew of new Android devices including the Note 3 and HTC One Max, the later of which is rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor. Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 last week and will begin selling it at the end of this month.
