Pilar Sanders Writing Memoir About Alleged Deion Sanders Abuse
Pilar Sanders, the former wife of NFL Hall-of-Famer Deion "Prime Time" Sanders, is reportedly writing a tell-all book about her life with the athlete.
Sanders recently endured a custody battle where she lost custody of her children to her ex-husband. Now, the former model said she is gearing up to release a memoir tentatively titled "Saving Sanders: The Pilar Sanders Untold Story," about her allegedly abusive marriage to the former NFL player.
Although Deion has denied claims that he has physically abused his estranged wife, the latter spoke up about her reason for penning her side of the story in a memoir.
"I want to be a mentor to other women who have been abused, by sharing my story, my struggles and letting them in, it will not only help heal myself but others experiencing the same trials and struggles as well," she told HipHollywood.com recently. "There are thousands of women fighting for their rights, their children and their own identity out there."
Sanders said that her faith in Jesus would help her overcome what she feels has been an injustice done to her after losing custody of her three children recently.
"We as women and mothers need to ban together to show support for injustice," Sanders told HipHollywood recently. "I will continue my fight as long as I walk this earth, and with Jesus at my side all will prevail."
Pilar will be able to see her children every Thursday for two hours and on every first, third and fifth weekend of each month, Deion's attorney, Rick Robertson, told RumorFix.com. The announcement reportedly came as a surprise to both Pilar and her legal team.
"Pilar's legal team was caught completely off guard. She found out as she was driving up to pick up her daughter at school," a representative for Pilar told RumorFix last month. "The whole thing is unbelievable. She has been a stay at home mother all their children's lives."
A reported 11 of 12 jurors ruled in favor of the NFL Hall of Famer receiving custody of the children, according to a TMZ report.
Although Pilar reportedly attempted to prove that her former husband had dabbled in steroid use, he said in court proceedings that her main incentive was money.
"I think the whole reason we're here is not about kids, it's about money. Let's call it what it is," said Sanders in a CBS 11 report. "They refuted the pre-nuptual. We beat them in court regarding the children and we're back. We'll be back again [for] something else."
After the verdict, the NFL player-turned-network analyst took to his Twitter account to give glory to God.
"Thank all of you whom prayed for me and my children. The Truth is what it is," he tweeted. "Never doubt God! Truth."
The release of Pilar's memoir has yet to be announced.
