Samsung Galaxy S3 Pre-Orders Break Records Overseas
It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S3 has already caught fire overseas with its pre-order sales shattering past records.
Vodafone is reporting that is has received a record variety of end-user pre-orders for the Galaxy S3 before its actual launch set to take place at the end of this month, according to the U.K. carrier who recently shared this news with The Inquirer.
A spokesperson for the company could not confirm the numbers, but did say they were off the charts.
"With only a week to go until launch, it's already probably the most pre-ordered Android device we've brought into our smartphone line-up to date and our limited time offer of 2GB of mobile data and 100 free music tracks will be got," said the Vodafone spokesperson to the Inquirer.
Carphone Warehouse, another electronic retailer in the U.K., is also reporting large pre-sale numbers for the Galaxy S3.
They have also begun in Egypt through a retailer known as Raya Shop.
According to a report from YouMobile, the device will officially launch sometime in the middle of June in the Middle Eastern region.
A majority of the retailers including Amazon.com are offering the international version, which will be priced at $800.
The site's listing also reveals that the device will be released on May 29. This means customers could get their hands on a Galaxy S3 as early as the last week of May or first week of June.
However, none of the major U.S. carriers have announced when they would be releasing the new Android handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled by Samsung on May 5 at its "Mobile Unpacked" media event in London.
The device features some exciting specifications including a quad-core processor and 4.8-inch high-definition Super AMOLED display.
