Steven Sund details 5 facts about J6 in Tucker interview: National Guard, Nancy Pelosi and 2020 riots
2. Lawmakers investigating Jan. 6 tried to prevent Sund from testifying and kept Nancy Pelosi ‘off limits’
Sund maintained that he “fought to testify” before the U.S. Senate at a Feb. 23, 2021, hearing focused on Jan. 6, lamenting that “they didn’t want me to testify.”
According to Sund, “When they first put out the notice when they were talking about having the hearing, it was only for current employees that were still in place,” meaning that “No one that was no longer in place in their position” was invited to testify. Those requirements would have prevented Sund, as well as Irving and Stenger, from testifying, but all three ultimately ended up doing so.
Additionally, Sund stated that Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who led the "U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6th Attack on the Capitol of the United States," insisted that “Speaker Pelosi’s off-limits.” As a result of that decision, the committee “wouldn’t get any of her records, phone records.”
