Terrell Owens In Bad Shape?

Terrell Owens, a wide receiver and free agent in the National Football League, conducted a highly publicized workout on Tuesday, but no teams were on hand to “woo” the football star into signing a new contract.

Owens arrived on the field of a Los Angeles high school at 11 a.m. to prove that he was ready to return to the game after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament surgery on his left knee.

It was his first public workout since the surgery, and rumors swirled over specific teams that might court the player. Speculation surrounding the Tennessee Titans looking to acquire the 36-year-old was not quelled after the team opted out of watching Owens practice.

Drew Rosenhaus, Terrell Owens agent, said he was aware that the media workout would not draw the Titans, who were not ready to commit to a private workout, according to NFL reports.

However, Rosenhaus told NFL networks that Owen's workout film would be sent to all 32 NFL teams. Owens, who showed up with a shirt that read, "I am" on the front and "Ready" on the back, participated in pass-catching drills and a session to display his agility.

Despite the lack of teams in attendance on Tuesday, Bay Area trainer Raymond Farris said he was optimistic for the player.

"Owens is ready," Farris said, according to NFL.com.

Although TMZ reported that Owens was rushed to the hospital stemming from an emergency 911 call earlier this month, Owens has maintained that he is in good health.

"Obviously everybody has been wondering what has been going on with the knee, so the knee is doing great," Owens told ESPN earlier this month.
