John Thune: 'None of this is gonna be easy'
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., who was recently elected to serve as the next Senate majority leader, said he is unsure if Gaetz will survive the confirmation process.
"I don't know the answer to that just yet," Thune conceded to Fox News anchor Bret Baier, adding that the option of recess appointments is "still an open question."
BAIER: "Do you think Matt Gaetz can get through [confirmation for AG}?"

Thune also acknowledged that the confirmation of Trump's appointees would not be easy, according to The Hill.
"None of this is gonna be easy, but again, President Trump had a huge mandate from the American people," he said. "Not only the popular vote, the electoral vote. They were historic. The people in this country want change. I always believe that you defer to a president when it comes to the people they want in their Cabinet."
"But obviously there is a process whereby we get down and scrub all these nominees and figure out whether or not, one, are they qualified and are they people fit to hold these offices," he added.
