Trump's Georgia indictment: 5 things to know
Several Trump attorneys have also been indicted, one of whom says Trump isn’t helping with their legal expenses
In addition to Trump, 18 other individuals face charges in connection to the indictment handed down last week. Notable co-defendants include former New York City Mayor turned Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, former congressman turned White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, as well as attorneys John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis.
Ellis, one of several attorneys who represented Trump in the post-2020 election litigation and made frequent appearances on television on behalf of her then-client, took to X last week to lament that she was “reliably informed Trump isn’t funding any of us who are indicted.” Her post came in response to Conservative Political Action Committee Chairman Matt Schlapp’s declaration that “the sooner we unify behind a nominee the sooner we can use resources to fund the defense of everyone indicted for being a Trump Republican.”
I was reliably informed Trump isn’t funding any of us who are indicted.

Would this change if he becomes the nominee? Why then, not now?
I totally agree this has become a bigger principle than just one man. So why isn’t MAGA, Inc. funding everyone’s defense? https://t.co/dI0JvThJyp
Ellis’ lawyer has set up a fundraiser on GiveSendGo where supporters can help her with her legal expenses arising from the indictment. As of Friday afternoon, the fundraiser has raised more than $161,000.
