Whitney Houston in Good Spirits Before Death, Not Drugged, Friend Says
Unconfirmed Reports Claim Houston Died of Toxic Mix of Prescription Drugs and Alcohol
Whitney Houston's death has been reported as being drug and alcohol related, however a friend who was with the singer days before her death thinks differently.
Houston performed for the last time at her friend and singer Kelly Price's "Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For the Love of R&B" pre-Grammy concert at the Hollywood nightclub Tru on Thursday. Price, who performed a quick rendition of "Jesus Loves Me" with the 48-year-old Houston said her friend seemed fine during their last encounter.
"She was in good spirits leaving the club," Price said in a CNN report.

Despite some media reports about Houston dying with drugs and alcohol in her system, Price said the late singer was not behaving unusual in their last encounter that took place days before her death. Price spoke to Billboard on the Grammy red carpet on Sunday, because she wanted to clear up rumors concerning her late friend.
"I'm talking because I want people to know the truth about how things were at her last performance," Price said. "When she left the club, she left tired and drained because we had all danced ourselves into an absolute frenzy. It's hard for me to hear anything other than that, because she stood no more than three feet away from me the entire time and we had a ball."
Still, TMZ reported that Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol killed the star. However, Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, told reporters that there was a security hold on Houston's official coroner report.
"I know there are reports that she maybe was drowned or did she overdose, but we won't make a final determination until all the tests are in," he said. "So there will be no additional information put out as far as what was discovered in the room, any details of that nature."
Despite unconfirmed reports concerning Houston's drug related death, singer Celine Dion said, when speaking about the late singer, that the music industry scares her.
"Whitney has been an amazing inspiration for me. It's just really unfortunate that drugs, bad people or bad influence took over" Dion, 43, said on "Good Morning America."
"There's something that happens that I don't understand and that's why I'm so scared. I'm scared of show business. I'm scared of drugs," she added.
